The Minnesota Wild are a No. 1 hockey team going into Monday night’s game against the Seattle Krakens Game ( 8 p.m. ET, ESPN+/Hulu ) . But can they aim even higher?

The Western Conference standings are in disarray, with the Wild (93 points, 30 regular season wins) trailing the league by 5 points and 4 regular season wins on Monday’s roster The top-seeded Vegas Golden Knights in the playoffs. The Los Angeles Kings are next (96, 33), followed by the Dallas Stars (92, 32), Colorado Avalanche (92, 30) and Edmonton Oilers (91, 37).

Purely based on schedule, the Stars still have the easiest path, but the Wild have two key upcoming games if they want to catch Vegas: They will play the Cavaliers at home on April 1 (in Vegas) and April 3 (in Sao Paulo). Those two games will tell us a lot.
