The Minnesota Timberwolves said in a statement Monday that they are Defender Anthony Edwards’ anti-gay comments in his Instagram video over the weekend.
“We are disappointed by the language and behavior displayed by Anthony Edwards on social media,” the team said in a statement attributed to the team released Monday by President Timothy m Connery. “The Timberwolves are committed to being an organization that is inclusive and welcoming to all, and apologize for the offense this has caused so many people.”

“I said immature, hurtful and disrespectful and I am so sorry,” Edwards said in a tweet Sunday afternoon. “I or anyone can’t accept using this language in such a hurtful way, there’s no excuse at all. I’ve grown better than that!”

in this video has been removed , Edwards filmed a group of people standing on the sidewalk from inside the car and described them with anti-gay comments.
An NBA spokesperson said the league is reviewing the matter.
The NBA has fined in the past for using anti-gay language, including a $50,000 fine on Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant last year for using “” Offensive and derogatory” language, Nikola Jokic fined $25,000 for comments he made in 2018 postgame interview, Kobe Bryant fined $100,000 for shouting anti-gay slur in one place Dollar 2011 ref.
