The foldable market is likely to grow steadily, as most major smartphone OEMs have launched not one but several foldable phones. However, that’s mostly true for the Chinese market, while options in other countries are mostly limited to Samsung, Motorola, Huawei, and in some cases Oppo. Unfortunately, that’s not going to change anytime soon.
According to well-known Chinese leaker IceUniverse, Xiaomi’s upcoming Mix Fold 3 will not be available outside of China. Like its predecessors, Xiaomi’s next foldable device will once again receive limited exposure. While the report doesn’t reveal much about the Mix Fold 3 itself, it hints that the phone will be competitive and feature the latest technology.
Rumors suggest we’ll see UD selfie camera, 23W wireless charging, while an earlier one points to water and dust resistance IP rating and periscope telephoto camera – a rare feature in a foldable device.
Last year’s Mix Fold 2 proved to be a pretty solid foldable phone, despite its few drawbacks. This year’s vivo X Fold2 is undoubtedly one of the best foldable phones out there, going up against Samsung’s Galaxy Fold series. But just like the Mi Mix Fold 2, it’s only sold in China. Too bad we can’t have the best of the best in the western market.
