The San Francisco Giants are tasked with stealing Yankees star Aaron Judge, and will reportedly put in any money needed.
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge was one of the best hitters in MLB during the regular season, and now he’s about to become A free agent, several teams dream of adding him to their rosters. The San Francisco Giants are working hard to make that happen, and they’re ready to go all out.
According to Randy Miller of New Jersey. com, “The Giants have taken aim at the judges and are ready to do whatever it takes, a person with knowledge of the Giants’ thinking told NJ Advance Media after a meeting with members of the franchise group.”
The unnamed source also reportedly said, “Judges are at the top of the Giants roster and they’re not going to be underestimated. If they missed out, it wasn’t because of the money. .”
The Giants are in a tough division, which is sensible for them if they want to compete with the Los Angeles Dodgers and The up-and-coming San Diego Padres compete to provide funds to promising players.
The Giants missed the playoffs this season, and their lineup didn’t stand out. Signing Judge and another “high-priced free agent,” according to Miller, could certainly help them gain an edge next season.
Giants could sign Aaron Judge
During the regular season, the Giants absolutely proved they don’t have a great lineup. While it’s not the worst in the league, it certainly has a lot of room for improvement. They finished the season with the 8th lowest batting average (.234), 15th in hit percentage (.315), 16th in batting average (.390) and 13th in OPS (.705).
Jock Pederson is their best hitter, but he’s not the most consistent. He started the season in April with a slump of .353/.382/.745 and went downhill until he hit .133/.221/.200 in July. He redeemed himself in August and September, slashing 0.339/.417/.613 by the end of September. He hit the most home runs on the team (23).
No matter how good, the referee will bring much-needed strength to any team’s lineup and their lineup may or may not be.
He chased the Triple Crown, the most elite award any MLB player can earn, and barely missed it. He set a new AL home run record after 61 years and led the league in multiple stats during the regular season, including runs (133), home runs (62), and totals (391) , on-base percentage (.425), slugging percentage (.686), OPS (1.111) and WAR (10.6). He is also tied with Pete Alonso for most RBIs (131).
His playoffs are far from favorable, but his regular-season numbers are so good that they shouldn’t be discounted. He was consistent in the regular season, which is exactly what the Giants need. Any team would be lucky to have Judge on their roster, and the Giants are smart enough to throw whatever they need in him.
