The Lord of the Rings alum has booked a season-long cameo role in the second Showtime Emmy Nominate an episode.
Wood will play the role of Walter, a dedicated citizen detective who will challenge today’s Misty (Emmy nominee) in ways she can’t see Christina Ricci).
The actor becomes the third new face to join the show’s current storyline, and the first to not play the adult version of an existing character. Earlier this week, Simone Kessell (Obi-Wan Kenobi) signed on Adult version of Courtney Eaton’s Lottie Matthews, while Lauren Ambrose ( Six Feet The following ) was previously announced to play Adult Fan (1990s storyline as Liv Hewson).
Wood’s credits include The Lord of the Rings franchise, upcoming LA Rush and Venomous Avengers. On TV, his credits include Wilfred and Dirk Gently’s Overall Detective Agency. He was replaced by CAA and Brillstein.
Wood joins a cast that also includes Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis and Tawney Cypress. This 1990 series stars Hewson, Ella Purnell, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Jasmine Savo E. Brown and Sophie Nellis. Husband-and-wife duo Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson created the series and served as presenters alongside Jonathan Lisco.
The second season will begin production in August. 30. A return date has not been announced.
