YouTube Stories will cease to exist starting June 26. Ad-hoc media is being phased out and all YouTube Stories 26 shared in June will expire in 7 days. An accompanying community post indicates that YouTube is removing stories in favor of YouTube shorts and community posts.

YouTube believes its community posts are great for sharing “light updates” and spreading the word among fans Discussions, while Shorts deliver more traffic and subscribers than Stories. YouTube Stories originally launched 26 as Reels, before being renamed Stories a year later.
