Zachary Levi clarified on Instagram that he doesn’t blame Dwayne Johnson – or anyone – for canceling the original in Planned end credits scene)Shazam! Wrath of the Gods, will see members of the Justice Society of America invite the sequel’s protagonists to join their team.

Levi appeared to call Johnson after hearing the story of ) )The Wrap reports that Black Adam star prevents Justice Society character from appearing in Shazam! sequel and vetoed the possibility of Levi having a cameo in his movie. On his Instagram story, the Chuck alumnus shared a post referring to the report, adding that “the truth will set you free.”
“I may or may not, you know, retweet some stories in my stories that are not about me [The Wrap] reported and then I started complaining because people were saying ‘oh what are you doing? You try to blame this person, Because your movie didn’t do well. Like you’re trying to blame us,'” Levi said during an Instagram Live on Thursday. “Look, I’m not blaming anyone. I’m not blaming anyone for the way our movie was played.”

, because Black Adam and Shazam are rivals in the comics. The sequel’s filmmaker, David F. Sandberg, told The Hollywood Reporter The original end credits scene “broke down 3 days before we were going to shoot the camera.”

“People are turning their noses up at James Gunn because his wife, Jennifer Holland, is an actress and she’s doing Peacemaker and in Suicide Squad, yes, but with the Justice Society,” Levi shared. “We used Jennifer and Steve in that scene, in the end credits, in Shazam!, but that wasn’t the original intent.”
He continued, “The original intention was for Hawkman and Whirlwind to invite me… BTW, this is a bit of a spoiler warning for those who haven’t seen it Didn’t see the movie. Sorry, it’s online anyway. So, our intentions, our desires – Walter Hamada, Peter Safran, David Sandberg, myself, everyone – we have a great scene , would have me join the JSA with Hawkman and Cyclone, but we were thwarted.”
He explained again that he didn’t want to blame anyone for the film’s performance, But just want to defend the people who deserve what they deserve.
“I’m here to defend the truth because the truth is good,” Levy said. “Guys, we all deserve to live in it, even if it’s hard, even if it might conflict with something we might have believed before, and now it challenges our thoughts or opinions. We need to live in the truth.”
