Za'Darius Smith targets first career sacking of Aaron Rodgers

Zadarius Smith, who is making his Minnesota Vikings debut this season, is most excited to make his debut against the Green Bay Packers.

Zadarius Smith will make his season debut with the Minnesota Vikings, his first with the team. Sunday’s upcoming game will kick off the 2022-23 NFL season for both teams, and it’s even more exciting for the linebacker as he faces off against his former team, the Green Bay Packers. He had big goals in his first game against Minnesota.

In a locker room interview posted on Twitter by KSPT-TV’s Alec Osmus, Smith said he would ” Hope to knock [Aaron Rogers] down a few times.”

Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, so Smith knocking him out was both iconic and a great feat for the Vikings. The two teams are division rivals, but the Packers usually end up at the top of the standings, winning titles in nine of the past 15 years.

Teammates also noticed Smith’s energy in the game.

KJ Osborn praised Smith saying, “We’re so grateful to have him. I’ll probably get some questions about Green Bay this week. With him around, he’s a leader and seeing him bring the field Come on, it’s great.”
